About the Seminar
Cyber Crimes in India is one of the most challenging issues in contemporary times. Cyber security threats are becoming an emerging factor in an ever-expanding and technology-driven market. It has penetrated all major sectors like the banking and finance, commercial facilities, postal services, transportation, e-retail platforms, etc. It is present in the form of phishing and social engineering, malware, spear phishing, ransom ware, hacking, software piracy, pornography, cyber squatting, etc. Cyber security incidents jumped from 3,94,499 in 2019 to 11,58,208 in 2020, according to the data shared by the government. Cybercrime in India has surged amidst the country’s unprecedented corona virus lockdown. The spike in cybercrimes and attacks has predictably targeted private citizens’ wallets and personal data. These cyber-attacks can proves hazardous not just for the organization, but also for the nation. These attacks are also affecting the economy of the country if not controlled in the initial stage. So it is necessary to study and spread awareness about Cyber laws and security in India.
